2008 Registration Information

This year, the AZJSHS will accept registration electronically. Students will work with their mentor /teacher or parent to complete a registration form document. If a teacher/mentor is registering a group of students then click here to download group registration form.

Oral Presenters

Presenters must apply by March 7, 2008, with a brief proposal (see registration form for details). Selections will be made by March 11, 2008. If you are not selected to present, you may attend as an observer or poster presenter.The schedule below outlines important dates for oral presenters:

Friday, March 7, 2008

Application deadline for Registration Form and proposal. Proposal includes: Question, Hypothesis, Procedures, Preliminary Findings. If you have completed your project, you can simply attach your paper. Students with completed projects will be given priority. Seniors will also be given priority in the selection.   

All participants "students and chaperones" will be provided housing at the "Twin Palms Hotel" in Tempe, AZ. By default all registered participants would be assigned accommodations. Please notify us during registration incase you have alternative accommodation plans.

Arizona Junior Science and Humanities Symposium begins with the opening dinner at 5 PM on Friday 28th, at Macayo's Cantina,Tempe. Following dinner, a choice between two cultural events organized on campus the details of which are given below.

The Herberger College School of Music is proud to present Giuseppe Caputo
and Luciano Pompilio, an internationally acclaimed classical guitar duo from
Italy.

Triangle- A Play
March 28 7:30 p.m.
Lyceum Theatre, ASU Tempe Campus

A new play from playwright Laurie Brooks, commissioned by the School of
Theatre and Film. Set against the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire of 1911,
award-winning playwright Laurie Brooks uses imagery, movement and language
to explore the immigrant experience and the turning point at which children
become adults. Suitable for youth and adults.

Note: For Lyceum Theatre we have a limited availability of 50 tickets. Please notify your event preferences using the information below .

Please note that you would need to register for the events listing your preferences since we have limited capacity. Registration form for the events need to be filled and sent to us via email. All student particpants and chaperones - teachers/mentors/parents are eligible for free admission.

Student presentations will begin at 9 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2008, at the Coor Building at ASU in Tempe, Arizona.

Arizona Junior Science and Humanities Symposium begins with the opening dinner at 5 PM on Friday 28th, at Arizona State University , Tempe . Following dinner, you will have a choice of events to attend on campus. Student presentations will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, March 29, 2008 , at the Coor Building at ASU in Tempe , Arizona . If you are an observer, you are expected to attend all events in the symposium, along with your chaperone.

Competitive Poster Presenters

New this year, AZJSHS is having a competitive poster presentation which will be a judged with prizes awarded. If you would like to present your work (poster) this year, please fill out the registration form with your mentor/teacher. You may not compete in both oral and poster presentation. As space is limited, we suggest that the dimensions of your poster NOT to exceed 4 feet wide and 6 feet high. Poster presenters will set up posters on Saturday, March 29, 2008, between 7 - 7:45 AM. Posters will be taken down the same day at 4:30 PM. There will be a public viewing between 8 - 8:45 AM and 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM, Saturday, March 29, 2008.
